South MS Kids (southmskids.com) is an informational and event blog to help parents and children on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Our Belief is that parents who spend more recreational time with their children will have kids that are easier to manage and focus in more areas of their lives. When our children feel like they are a joy to be around, it increases their self-esteem, motivation, and can ultimately effect their drive.

South MS Kids is owned and operated locally. The professional team include Damion Flynn, Andries Butler, and Jessica Butler.

Damion Flynn is the administrator and editor for the site. He is the one that tries to make sure that Jessica and Andries do not break it :-) . Damion’s day time job is as a real estate broker on the Mississippi Coast. He enjoys working with clients with children. Damion volunteers in the community, mostly in leadership roles with, or for the benefit of, children. Most recently, Damion was the President of the West Wortham Elementary/Middle School PTA (2008-09). Damion Lives in Saucier with his wife and children.

Andries Butler works in the capacity of a photographer and researcher for the site. He also works as Damion’s business partner in real estate on the MS Coast. As a prior journalist and PR coordinator in the military, Andries knows the ins and outs of writing and researching. He really started focusing on kid-centric activities after his son was born and is passionate about helping get information out to parents who want to do more with their children and make a better environment for their children.

Jessica Butler, married to Andries and mother to his child, has always enjoyed children. While she can get a little frustrated with the wee ones just like anyone else, her passion for working with children is unsurpassed and thus the reason she seemed like an appropriate fit as the event research and coordinator. Jessica will be the one that most people see posting on the site and updating events from us and our partners.
